Sharon Harper
President & CEO
Sharon Harper is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Plaza Companies.
Mrs. Harper's forward-thinking commitment has created success as well
as respect throughout the industry. Mrs. Harper is not only dedicated
to her business endeavors, but she is also actively involved in many
different aspects of the community.
Mrs. Harper is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia G.
Piper Charitable Trust, the Board of Directors of the Arizona Community
Foundation, the Board of Directors for Banner Health Foundation, the
Executive Board for Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL) and the Board of
Trustees for Brophy College Preparatory. She is a past Chairman of the
Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), a past Honorary Commander of
Luke Air Force Base, a member of the Creighton University National
Alumni Board, a member of the Governor's Arizona Film and Television
Commission, and a past Board Member of the Maricopa County Arts
Cultural Task Force. Mrs. Harper is a founding member of Straight Talk
America, Senator John McCain's 2000 candidacy for President of the
United States and served on the Finance Committee for Senator McCain's
2008 Presidential Campaign. She also serves on several editorial
advisory boards for both local and national publications.
Mrs. Harper has been honored on numerous occasions, including, the 2008
Building New Futures Good Scout Award by the Boy Scouts of America, the
2007 Sandra Day and John O'Connor Award for outstanding community
service and the 2006 Creighton University Alumni Achievement Citation.
Today's Arizona Woman Magazine named Mrs. Harper, 'Woman of the Year'
in 2006 and she was presented the Athena Award by the Arizona Chamber
of Commerce. In addition, she was named one of the Twenty-Five Most
Powerful Women by the Arizona Business Magazine and Westmarc presented
Mr. Harper the Best of the West Leadership Award. Mrs. Harper has also
been honored with the President's Award by Brophy College Preparatory.
Through her leadership, the Plaza Companies has been honored as Large
Developer of the Year by the National Association of Industrial and
Office Properties (NAIOP), by BOMA for Medical Office Building of the
Year in 2001, 2004 and 2008 and by Arizona Business Magazine as an
‘Economic Engine' in 2007 and as one of the ‘Best Places to Work' by
the Arizona Business Journal in 2007.
